About

I am a nomad. Life is best when I’m moving about, exploring a new place or meeting new people. Having just graduated from Journalism at Carleton University, I received an international fellowship with the Aga Khan Foundation Canada. For the next eight months, I will be living in Kampala, Uganda as a Business Communications Specialist for the Madrasa Resource Centre. This blog will be the documentation for what I expect to be a random, exciting and life-changing adventure. (It also serves to appease my questioning friends and family members, my written story telling is far superior to my oral story telling)

Please note: The postings and views expressed on this site are entirely my own and do not represent the views or opinions of CIDA, AKF, AKFC or the Madrasa Resource Centre.

  1. So nice to hear about your adventures so far! Sounds like it was a difficult departure but that you are adjusting well to your new home. I know you will do great things there. I know you to be very resourceful and composed. I am looking forward to following your blog and learning all about Kampala! I can’t believe you are there!

Hope you’re finding things to eat. 🙂

    • Thanks Dianne! It’s been incredible so far, definitely adjusting! It’s a beautiful place with beautiful people though, so I’m loving it! I can’t believe I’m finally here either – still feels surreal!

Hope all is well in Ottawa! 🙂

  2. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND BLESSINGS IN THE NEW YEAR – from ottawa -[-more in private email as I had lost your new email address & went on this site for you]
